Based in Tucson, my art has been described as colorful and whimsical. I believe tattoos can help us heal in many ways. Some of those ways are scar coverage and paramedical areola tattoos. Other ways are more emotional than physical, but just as important. If you are looking for an experience built around you, the client, in mind, you have found your artist.

I started this year with a program to help those who have scars cover them with a tattoo. From Scars to Art was inspired by my work with covering peoples’s scars, large and small, on sometimes a daily basis. Covering a scar with a tattoo can help with creating a new narrative for your story. It does not get rid of the scar but it does replace the visual of it to something more beauty and more powerful.

I have read a couple of Wayne Dyer’s books. His research into happiness and how to change one’s subconscious mind were profound. He started my healing journey before I knew I started it.
Take this invitation with you through your day and see how one person can begin to change the world. Imagine if everyone who is self aware took the extra time in their day to be kind- the kind of immediate shift we would feel.
My challenge for you today, in these challenging times, is to make kindness your intention. Pay it forward, open the door for someone, you know, be kind and respectful to the people around you. Get your serotonin up! Then, when you go home, be sure to give yourself that same kindness and love❤️
Whether we like it or not, we are all in this together. We can choose to allow it to destroy all that is good with humanity or we can allow it to harness greater compassion and understanding for everyone around us, no matter their differences. 🫶

Was honored to bring this lady’s vision to life! She had started to create crochet flowers to give some color to her dark office at work. Based on some of her own flowers, I created this design.
To be honest- never doing something like this before I totally underestimated the amount of time I needed to get this done. Knowing that this was just how it was going to be, we worked in a few extra sessions without the extra up charge, to be sure to finish what we started and to give her something beautiful.
I am typically pretty good and of if I don’t know for sure I will let you n ow so when you come in you pay what I quote you, or prepare you for having to pay more. I just feel like it is common courtesy. If I quote you $600 and it takes me an extra two hours- I do not charge the extra two hours. That’s is not what you were saving your money for.
This doesn’t happen often. I have been doing this long enough to gauge the time pretty well. Enough so that is how I schedule.

I turned 51 at the end of last year and I feel like so far one of the biggest take aways I can give you, is to make a priority in your life now- whether you are in your 50s, 20s, ect. to save space to pursue what brings you joy.
I have spent most of my life working myself as hard as possible because I unknowingly wrapped up my entire self worth in my accomplishments. I have been doing trauma work for a while now, but this one surprised me. So at this stage in my life, I am shakily walking through uncharted territory as I begin to do more for me and less for others, and the more for me has to bring me joy.
Life is fleeting and we never know what the day will bring so choosing to do something that makes you feel happy to be alive is important.

If your feed isn’t helping your mental health- you have the power to fix it. Social media is a great resource for entertainment, staying in contact with friends or family, and learning about things that are going on in the world. This can lead to overload and mental fatigue, depression, and anxiety.
💜In a world where you can feel like you do not have control- this is something you can. Put down the phone. Set a timer to allow yourself to stay up to date on important events, ect, but you do not have to allow yourself to get sucked in.
💜Design your feeds for yourself. Block any posts you do not want to see. Unfollow people. Block people you don’t like, mute people who you love but you can’t stand their stance on things. This is under your control.
💜Instead of social media you can do more activities outside of it. Online groups and in person groups- gardening, book clubs, painting groups- ect. Hone in on what brings you joy.
💜My space is a safe space. For those who have a problem with it- that isn’t my problem, it’s yours. If you don’t like it- fix your feed💜

Hope everyone had time to rest this weekend. My weekend is still going, but figured I’d make a post since it has been a couple of days. When you are a small business social media becomes a very prominent form of advertising. In some ways it is nice. You can engage with people and show them what you are doing on a daily basis, but to be honest in times like these it is hard to post because what is going on around us is not going well, and although at these times it can bring us together, it’s hard to be like- “hey! Come over here and look at me!” Lol. I post frequently to show you what I am doing at work. My creative ventures that I am a part of is part of what I am promoting, but do not think for one moment I am not currently watching the state of the world and packing a “bugout” bag as we speak, while making sure I am staying informed on what’s going on. Times are uneasy, and if you haven’t already been taking actions, maybe just buying some extra cans of food here and there, would just ease the stress if shit gets too close to where you live. Don’t forget water, flash lights, batteries, and something to start a fire of needed. Everyone should be prepared for an emergency situation and doing it ahead of the storm is better than during. Stay safe out there- and know that my studio is a safe space. 💜
